Why did the soldiers want a mascot?
The soldiers wanted a mascot because many of the soldiers believed that it would bring them good luck and home to their families.
How did the mascot make them feel?
The mascot made them feel good about themselves and brave. It also stopped them from worrying about the war and gave them something else to think about.

Senior School Triathalon
Senior School Triathlon
On Friday we had the Senior School Triathlon. I was in a team with Maddi and Tessa. Tessa was our swimmer, Maddi was our runner and I was our biker.
Maddi went to the starting line, the whistle blew and she took off faster than a cheater. Everyone was cheering for their team mates, I was cheering for Maddi. Maddi came racing up and touched my back. I took off at a great pace.
I raced over to my bike, put my helmet on and hopped on my bike. I went the wrong way but then I caught up to all the bikers and runners and tagged Tessa.
Tessa raced off and dived into the warm water. She passed all the swimmers, hopped out and crossed the finish line and we still came first.
I really enjoyed the Senior School Triathlon and I am happy that even though I started the wrong way we still came first!Senior School Triathlon.

The Ants and the Grasshopper
This story has lots of good lessons.
The Ants were like Jesus because they taught Grasshopper a lesson. Jesus likes to teach people lessons to help them grow to be better people. Jesus was always kind to others and so was grasshopper because Grasshopper gave the ants some of his food.
